Rental Policies
If you have a valid Alabama boating license, you may use it when operating the rental. If you do not have an Alabama boating license, you will need to complete our online boating safety course before operating the vessel. Under Alabama Code § 33-5-52(g), an individual renting a vessel from a qualifying boat rental business may be exempt from Alabama's boater safety certification requirements during the rental period when the requirements of the law are met. These requirements include receiving instruction on the proper and safe operation of the vessel, signing the rental contract and required statement, keeping a copy of the rental contract aboard the vessel while it is in operation, and being at least 16 years old. The signed rental contract serves as the documentation that must remain aboard the vessel during the rental period.
Yes. A pre-rental inspection is completed with the renter before possession of the vessel is transferred. Existing damage and any concerns about the condition of the vessel can be documented on the inspection. The renter signs the inspection acknowledging the documented condition of the vessel, and both Lake Jordan Boat Rentals and the renter receive a copy.
Yes. A security hold is placed on the credit card on file for incidentals such as damages, fuel, late returns, or other applicable charges.
